At De Bohun, we develop the whole child, ensuring that they are ready for the next step. De Bohun children learn to be resilient, responsible and reflective. Our curriculum teaches children about matters such as money sense and internet safety, and our careers and governance days encourage children to become confident leaders.

Our curriculum has been carefully designed to give children the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in an ever-changing modern world. At De Bohun, pupils learn to learn, empowering them to thrive on whatever path they choose to take.
Reading
At De Bohun Primary School, reading is a top priority and is a key driver for our curriculum. The English Lead and the Phonics Lead work closely together with all colleagues from Early Years, KS1 and KS2 to ensure coverage and progression.
Writing
The teaching of writing is of paramount importance within a broad and balanced curriculum. Our aim is to ensure that every child within our school, regardless of background, leaves our school as a competent writer and with an understanding of the conventions of Standard English and when to use it effectively. This ability to write with confidence for a range of purposes and audiences ensures that children leave De Bohun fully prepared for their secondary education, ready to achieve their aspirations and thrive throughout their life.
Maths
We want all pupils at De Bohun Primary School to experience the beauty, power and enjoyment of maths and develop a sense of curiosity about the subject. We believe all children can achieve in maths and teach for a secure and deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
Science
Children live in an age of fast-moving science and this area of learning is fundamental to exploring, understanding and influencing the natural and made worlds in which we live. Our aim is to build on children’s natural enthusiasm and curiosity to find out about phenomena and events in the world around them and make better sense of their environment.
