School Governors
School governors are ordinary people from the local community who wish to make a positive contribution to children’s education. They are the largest volunteer force in the country and have an important part to play in raising school standards. Governors are not involved in the day-to-day management of the school.
Almost anyone can become a school governor. All new governors receive training and support from Ivy Learning Trust and their fellow governors. If you are interested in becoming a governor, please contact governance@ivylearningtrust.org.
Governing Body
The Governing Body at De Bohun works with the school to ensure that all our pupils enjoy learning and achieve their full potential.
We do this by:
- Monitoring how well children are doing in school.
- Working with staff to make sure that the teaching is as good as it can be and that all of the children are properly cared for.
- Holding the school’s Leadership Team to account for using the school buildings and our other resources to provide the best learning environment for the children.
The Governing Body is made up of people representing all of the groups involved in our school: parents, staff and the community. The full Governing Body meets at least once a term. We also have sub-committees, which meet once a term to look more closely at pupil progress, teaching and learning, school buildings, and budget.
We are fortunate to have a Governing Body with a wide variety of skills and interests.
